Week #3 at the MTC

Tue. Oct 21
You know what I don't like? Sweaty feet from tights. My feet always smell gross.
When it was time to leave the classroom at 9:30pm, I said the Japanese word for "go" without realizing it. Isn't that cool?

Wed. Oct 22
Tomorrow is the TRC and I'm strangely excited. I'm sure I will have improved since last week.
I'd been hiccuping like crazy when I got here, but after my breakdown they seemed to stop. We decided the hiccups were out of stress and the breakdown finally let it all out.

Fri. Oct 24
(Thurs) TRC went better than last week. I used some complete sentences. This TRC we practiced a door approach and chatted, once inside, for about 5 minutes in Japanese. We did this to two doors. Then we taught the first discussion to the first door. There was a returned elder from Japan and a young Japanese guy. I'm not sure if he served a mission. He was learning English.
(Friday) Elder Reading from the senpai let me borrow his piano music. He has a lot of stuff. And... he has a cool last name.

Sat. Oct 25
Tex Sensei taught us the parable of the Good Samaritan except in terms of the Fall and the Atonement. Tex Sensei is one of the most spiritual people I know. Japanese is coming along. The system is starting to click and I'm willing to put myself on a limb when I speak. I hear most missionaries don't really get Japanese until the field. Did you know there's an examination you must pass before you get sent out to the field? I've learned to speak out in class without raising my hand:)

Sun. Oct 26
One more Sunday down. Every day I get a little more sad that the senpai leave (in TWO WEEKS!) My companion and I played a duet in church. I could understand more Japanese in church.

Mon Oct. 27
Gerber Choro got a package in the mail filled with Japanese snacks. I loved the Japanese starbursts and ricecakes. People weren't into the ricecakes, so I got two extras! There was also some dried squid... with a package of mayo. Apparently the Japanese love their mayo. I want to try the squid! I think our favorite district hymn is "Nearer My God to Thee." We are all good little part singers! And, I love singing in Japanese. It's a comfortable language to sing in.

Tue Oct. 28
Sis. Sheri Dew spoke in Relief Society. Isn't that AMAZING?

Every time I teach, I realize I love teaching. Sis Shaha and I taught our district meeting on Sunday. It was on hope, but I decided to do my portion on trust because I thought hope and trust went together.

Can you ask Sister Peery the steps required to audition and if I can any way get around those?
I'm not sure what major I want to do still, but I keep feeling like I need to go to BYU Provo after my mission even though I only have 13 credits until I graduate from Idaho.

Since you asked, 1/2 of my district is going to Kobe. They leave on a different day than we 4 of the district who are going to Tokyo.

I sent pictures in the mail today. You will need to scan them... sorry :( I know Mumford Choro mails his card home, but I didn't want to do that and I'm pretty sure you can't get things on a CD here.

Mrs. Bastien sent me her itinerary for Japan :) Isn't that cute? She's there right now I think.

Hopefully I didn't forget anything 'cause I can't write for a week.

OH- Ask the missionary moms what types of nylons hold up the best. I've ruined 3 pair... but don't send me any. I'll ask later. I'm doing fine.
